Hours: 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Salary: £30,600 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our growing operation. In this role, you will lead a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient movement of parcels while delivering excellent operational performance.
You will be responsible for motivating your team, maintaining high standards of health and safety, driving productivity, and ensuring customer service expectations are consistently achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking to develop their leadership career within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily operational targets.
- Plan and coordinate workloads to ensure parcels are processed accurately and on time.
- Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements where required.
- Conduct daily team briefings, shift handovers and regular performance discussions.
- Ensure all parcels are scanned, sorted and loaded in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain excellent standards of accuracy to minimise errors, damage and customer complaints.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety policies, ensuring all team members work safely and follow correct procedures.
- Carry out accident, incident and near-miss reporting where required.
- Support the induction and training of new employees.
- Coach team members to improve individual and team performance.
- Manage attendance, timekeeping and absence in line with company procedures.
- Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Monitor equipment and report defects promptly.
- Liaise with transport, operations and management teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist with stock control and operational reporting where applicable.
- Deal with operational issues quickly and professionally to minimise disruption.
- Act as the first point of contact for team queries and escalate issues when necessary.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, accountability and a positive attitude throughout every shift.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop others.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety requirements.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
- Flexible approach to work and shift patterns.
