About the Role
As a Waste Management Loader, you will work as part of a collection crew responsible for the safe and efficient collection of household and commercial waste, recycling, and green waste across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect household, recycling, and garden waste in accordance with scheduled routes.
- Assist the driver and collection crew in maintaining efficient waste collection services.
- Ensure waste and recycling containers are handled safely and returned appropriately.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Report any issues, hazards, or incidents to supervisors.
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
- Support the council's environmental and recycling objectives.
What We're Looking For
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Awareness of health and safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality public services.
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
