Workshop Controller / Workshop Manager - Senior Technician

Fareham, Hampshire
Automotive Specialist
Full Time | Permanent

This isn't your standard technician role.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician / Workshop Manager who still loves being hands-on with cars but is ready to take greater ownership within a busy prestige and performance workshop.

Our client is a growing independent performance automotive specialist based in Fareham, working with an impressive range of high-end vehicles.

They are now looking for a strong senior figure who can combine excellent technical ability with workshop leadership and become a key member of the team as the business continues to grow.

The Opportunity

You'll remain very much hands-on, carrying out complex mechanical, electrical and diagnostic work, while also helping to keep the workshop running efficiently.

You'll support the other technicians, help prioritise and oversee work, maintain high standards and step in on the more challenging technical and diagnostic jobs.

This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced:

Senior Vehicle Technician | Master Technician | Diagnostic Technician | Workshop Controller | Workshop Foreman | Workshop Supervisor

who wants greater responsibility without moving away from the tools.

What You'll Be Doing

Complex mechanical, electrical and diagnostic fault finding

Servicing, maintenance and repairs across modern prestige and performance vehicles

Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and resolve faults

Supporting and guiding other technicians

Helping allocate and prioritise workshop jobs

Keeping workflow moving efficiently

Maintaining and quality-checking workshop standards

Taking the lead on more involved technical problems

Working closely with management as the workshop continues to develop

What We're Looking For

You'll already be a highly capable all-round technician who is confident working independently and solving difficult problems.

Ideally, you'll have:

Strong modern vehicle diagnostic experience

Excellent mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills

Experience working with prestige, performance or premium vehicles

Previous senior, supervisory, workshop controller or foreman experience

Confidence supporting and guiding other technicians

A good understanding of workshop workflow and standards

Level 3 Automotive qualification or equivalent

Full UK driving licence

Genuine enthusiasm for cars and pride in your work

Why Consider This Opportunity?

If you're currently working within a large dealership or high-volume workshop and would like something more personal, varied and rewarding, this is well worth exploring.

You'll be joining an independent automotive business where your experience will genuinely matter.

Rather than simply being another technician on the tools, you'll have the opportunity to become a key senior member of the workshop, influence standards, support the team and grow with the business.

You'll work around some fantastic vehicles, tackle interesting technical work and enjoy the autonomy that comes with working for an ambitious independent specialist.

If you're looking for technical variety, greater responsibility and a genuine senior position, we'd love to hear from you.
