We are currently recruiting for the position of Workshop Controller on behalf of a reputable prestige main car dealership located in Watford, Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to lead a busy workshop environment and contribute to the continued success of the dealership.

Our client offers a competitive basic salary and bonus potential, along with excellent benefits and career development prospects within a well-established dealer group. The Workshop Controller will oversee a team of 16 technicians, 4 apprentices, and coordinate a team of service advisors.

Benefits for the successful Workshop Controller:
  • Basic salary of £36,000, with potential earnings up to £50,000 including bonuses
  • Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm, with rota Saturday work if required

Duties of the Workshop Controller:
  • Lead and manage a team of technicians and apprentices effectively
  • Maximise workshop productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality customer service and technical standards
  • Allocate work efficiently and manage workshop planning
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching to optimise results
  • Maintain health and safety standards within the workshop environment
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Service Advisor, or similar managerial role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of workshop processes and vehicle repair procedures
  • A customer-focused approach combined with sound technical understanding
