We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable commercial vehicle dealership in Tewkesbury for the position of Commercial Vehicle Workshop Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller with at least two to three years’ experience in heavy vehicles to join a long-established, family-run business.

Duties of the Workshop Controller:
  • Manage the daily operations of the commercial vehicle workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of HGV and LCV/Van Technicians
  • Plan and control work schedules, ensuring all jobs are completed to industry standards and customer expectations
  • Collaborate closely with Service Advisors to coordinate work booking and resource allocation
  • Promote workplace safety, technical quality, and adherence to dealership and industry regulations
  • Monitor workshop productivity and implement continuous improvement strategies
  • Maintain accurate workshop records and reporting
Requirements of the Workshop Controller:
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a commercial vehicle workshop for at least two to three years
  • Heavy vehicle (HGV, bus, coach) experience is essential; individuals from passenger car or LCV/van backgrounds will not be considered
  • Previous workshop control experience within a franchise-approved dealership is advantageous but not essential if from fleet or transport sectors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach
  • Strong results-driven mindset, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • High focus on quality, reliability, and safety standards
  • IT literacy with experience using workshop management systems
  • Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
