Are you an experienced Workshop Manager / Workshop Supervisor / Senior Engineer ready to take the next step in your career?
We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead the engineering operation at a busy PSV / bus depot.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of workshop performance, lead an engineering team and have a direct impact on the safety, reliability and availability of the fleet.
 
The Role of the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
Reporting to the senior engineering management team, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the workshop and engineering team.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the engineering workshop.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the engineering team, supporting training and performance.
  • Ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with DVSA, Department for Transport, statutory and company requirements.
  • Monitor fleet reliability, identify repeat defects and implement improvements to increase vehicle availability.
  • Take ownership of engineering issues while driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
 
What you’ll need as the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
 We're looking for an experienced engineering professional with the leadership skills to successfully manage a busy workshop.
You will ideally have:
  • Recent Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Manager or Engineering Management experience.
  • Experience within a PSV, PCV, HGV, bus or commercial vehicle fleet.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams.
  • Strong technical, organisational and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and improving fleet reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high standards of safety, engineering quality and customer service.
 
Essential Requirements of the Workshop Manager / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Workshop Supervisor
  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Recent engineering supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience within a PCV, PSV or HGV fleet environment.
