Our client, a reputable dealership in Wickford, Essex, is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Manager to lead and manage their busy workshop department. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for experienced motor trade professionals to take the next step in their career, overseeing a team and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Duties of a Workshop Manager:
  • Manage a team of workshop technicians to achieve departmental goals effectively
  • Implement and maintain efficient workshop procedures and administrative systems
  • Handle customer vehicle bookings, prepare estimates using Autodata, and keep customers informed on progress
  • Create invoices from job cards and process payments accurately
  • Answer inbound calls and handle customer enquiries professionally
  • Maintain accurate customer records and ensure workshop processes are up-to-date
  • Support parts procurement and stock control activities
  • Assist with health and safety compliance and operational duties as required
Requirements of a Workshop Manager:
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Manager within the motor trade
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities
  • Knowledge of workshop processes and strategies to improve efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service focus
  • Valid UK driving licence suitable for the role
