Tradewind Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to join our pool of Secondary Cover Supervisors, supporting our partnership schools across Worksop and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience within secondary education, whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, a Teaching Assistant looking to progress, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or an education professional looking for flexible work.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task.

You will work across a variety of secondary schools, providing valuable support to students and helping schools maintain continuity of learning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising students in a classroom setting in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students complete the work provided.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Following school policies and procedures at all times.
• Supporting students with their learning and encouraging positive engagement.
• Taking registers and reporting any issues or concerns to relevant school staff.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student behaviour, work completed and any incidents.
• Maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Building positive professional relationships with students and school staff.
• Supporting the wider school community when required.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence working with secondary-aged students.
• The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• A calm, professional and approachable manner.
• Excellent organisational skills and reliability.
• The flexibility to work across different schools and adapt quickly to new environments.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and their education.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Relevant qualifications or previous experience in education are desirable but not essential, as full guidance and support will be provided.
