• Hands‑on plant maintenance - hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, fault‑finding, servicing.

• Running the yard - organising machinery, vehicles, equipment, and daily operations.

• Diagnostics & repairs - you remain the technical expert on the ground.

• Safety leadership - ensuring the yard runs safely and professionally.

• Stock & parts control - managing inventory and ordering what's needed.

• Supporting operators & drivers - you're the go‑to problem solver.

• Improving processes - spotting inefficiencies and fixing them.

• Strong background as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or Heavy Equipment Technician

• Confident diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults

• Experience in a yard, depot, or plant environment

• Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload

• Comfortable taking charge and making decisions

• Any experience leading or mentoring others

• Knowledge of waste, recycling, aggregates, or construction machinery

• Familiarity with telehandlers, loading shovels, crushers, screeners, etc.

• £50,000-£55,000 salary
