We are currently working closely with a lovely primary school in Shrewsbury who are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with younger pupils and wants to become part of a warm, supportive school community. For the right candidate, there is also the potential for the position to become permanent.

The Role
As the Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
Supporting pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1.
Creating a fun, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
Developing pupils' early reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of individual learners.
Assessing and monitoring pupil progress.
Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and learning.
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
Contributing to the wider life of the school.
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have experience teaching within a UK primary school.
Have experience working within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
Be confident supporting early reading, writing and maths development.
Have excellent classroom and behaviour-management skills.
Be creative, enthusiastic and passionate about working with young children.
Be reliable, professional and committed to a long-term position.
Be able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff.
ECTs may also be considered, depending on the requirements of the school.
