Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Blackpool to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a long-term opportunity. This is an exciting role for a passionate practitioner who is committed to helping children thrive during this crucial transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.
The successful candidate will join a nurturing and inclusive school environment where high-quality teaching, creativity, and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, promoting excellent progress, and fostering a love of learning within a vibrant Year 1 classroom.
Your new role

• Full-time Year 1 Teacher position
• Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
• Working closely with colleagues, parents and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils
• Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations throughout the classroom

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
• Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and phonics teaching
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A nurturing and child-centred approach to teaching and learning
• Commitment to raising attainment and supporting every child to achieve their potential
