Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Applebough Education is delighted to be working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Good primary school in Cradley to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 and a genuine passion for supporting children to thrive in their learning and development.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.

• A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and the needs of young learners.

• Strong phonics knowledge, with experience of Little Wandle highly desirable.

• Experience supporting children with SEND and adapting learning to meet individual needs.

• A good understanding of EHCPs and how to support pupils in working towards their individual targets.

• The ability to work effectively with the class teacher and wider school team.

• A calm, nurturing and patient approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A commitment to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
