Leighton Buzzard
Are you an ambitious primary teacher with the pedagogical skill to guide young learners as they make the exciting leap into lower Key Stage 2?
Can you lead a Year 3 classroom with a perfect balance of structured academic ambition, creative lesson design, and unconditional positive regard?
If you are looking for a full-time, long-term role starting this upcoming academic year, we want to hear from you.
We are seeking a qualified Year 3 Teacher (QTS) to join our partner Primary School based in Leighton Buzzard for a long-term placement starting in September 2026. This dedicated school supports pupils through their crucial transition into junior schooling, focusing heavily on building academic independence, expanding core literacy and numeracy skills, and fostering social-emotional growth.
Your Responsibilities
- Bespoke Curriculum Design: Plan, differentiate, and deliver high-impact lessons tailored to the specific learning paces and needs of your pupils, aligning strictly with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum framework.
- Junior Literacy & Numeracy Integration: Seamlessly incorporate advanced reading strategies, creative writing focus, and mastery-approach mathematical concepts into your daily teaching to bridge the gap from Key Stage 1.
- Classroom Team Leadership: Direct, inspire, and manage a dedicated team of classroom Teaching Assistants within your room, ensuring a coordinated, safe, and positive approach to learning and behaviour support.
- Holistic Assessment: Utilise primary assessment frameworks and regular formative trackers to accurately monitor, record, and celebrate pupil progress.
- Phase Team Liaison: Collaborate regularly with Key Stage 1 practitioners and upper Key Stage 2 professionals to ensure consistent development and smooth year-to-year transitions.
- Parental Partnerships: Maintain sensitive, transparent, and encouraging communication with parents and carers, establishing a consistent network of support.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A proven track record of teaching within a UK primary school, Key Stage 2 setting, or specialised lower junior provision.
- Specialist Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of adaptive teaching pedagogy, lower KS2 curriculum milestones, and positive behaviour management strategies.
- Emotional Resilience: A calm, grounded, and patient demeanour, with the ability to lead a classroom confidently during periods of high student energy or learning anxieties.
- Collaborative Spirit: A genuine desire to work as part of a highly unified, school-wide team that puts the holistic well-being of the child first.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
