We’re currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 class at a primary school in Chatham. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.

About the role

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning.
• Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.
• Provide additional support to pupils who may require extra help with their learning.
• Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

Requirements

To apply, you’ll need:

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• Experience within a primary school or similar educational setting is advantageous.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• UK right to work.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
