We are currently recruiting Child & Young Person Support Workers to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs in the Redcar area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people build confidence, independence, and resilience while providing them with a safe and supportive environment.



The Role

As a Child & Young Person Support Worker, you will work closely with vulnerable children and young people, supporting their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

The role offers a variety of flexible shift patterns, including:

  • Day shifts
  • Waking night shifts
  • Long day shifts
  • Sleep-in shifts
  • Weekend work

Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week, although we can offer flexibility across a variety of shift patterns to suit your availability.



Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centred support to children and young people
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Supporting with daily activities and routines
  • Promoting independence, life skills, and social development
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours where required
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive mental health
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Working alongside families and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working with children and young people
  • Experience supporting SEND and SEMH needs
  • Residential care, support work, education, youth work, or health and social care experience
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
