About the Role

  • As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will design and deliver programmes that actively involve young people in meaningful activities
  • Enhance their skills, and cultivate a strong sense of community.
  • You will work directly with the Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) initiative.
  • This Welsh Government programme provides vital work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation across various sectors.

Your will:

  • Recruit Learners: Identify, engage, and recruit new learners onto the JGW+ programme.
  • Drive Outreach: Use sales, business development, and marketing techniques to attract participants.
  • Build Partnerships: Establish new business relationships and maximise existing partnerships for learner opportunities.
  • Promote Services: Actively promote and endorse our training products and services to prospective learners.
  • Network Digitally & Locally: Drive learner generation through targeted calls, networking, digital activities, and community outreach.
  • Engage the Community: Build effective relationships with schools, youth organisations, and community venues.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work strategically with Centre Leads and Learner Coaches to ensure seamless learner transitions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Youth-Focused Experience: Proven experience working with young people or a strong passion for making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence others.
  • Proactive Mindset: Ability to network, cold-call, and knock on doors to generate new leads and opportunities.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel across the Abergavenny, Abertillery, and Blackwood areas as required.
