Youth Worker

You’ll be delivering one-to-one support, acting as a key worker and helping young people create support plans focused on education, employment, budgeting, wellbeing, life skills and tenancy responsibilities. This is a rewarding role for someone who values person-centred support, safeguarding, positive engagement and helping young people live confidently and independently.
We’d love to hear from anyone with a background as a Youth Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, Housing Support Officer, or experience in supported housing, safeguarding, social care, education, employment support or working with vulnerable young people in a similar setting, especially if you're passionate about helping young people progress and live independently.
The role is offering the following benefits:

As a Youth Mentor, you will be:
- Working one-to-one with young people to assess their needs, risks and personal goals
- Creating support plans and helping with education, employment, budgeting, wellbeing and life skills
- Supporting young people with tenancy responsibilities including rent, behaviour and property care
- Liaising with external agencies including family members, support services and housing providers
- Keeping records updated and managing safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals
- An understanding of support work, housing, safeguarding or tenancy sustainment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships
- An organised and proactive approach, with confidence managing challenging situations
- Good record-keeping skills and the ability to work in line with safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
- Experience supporting young people aged 16–25 or vulnerable individuals
- A good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and support planning
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings until 9pm and some weekends
- Enhanced DBS
Travel & Location
This role is based in Dudley, supporting young people within supported accommodation across the local area. Dudley is well connected across the West Midlands, with access to nearby routes including the A4123, A461 and M5, making travel across local services and accommodation schemes straightforward.
