The Opportunity We are supporting a well-established business in Oldham with the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team on an interim basis for an initial 6-month period.
This is a hands-on role suited to an individual with strong Accounts Payable experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time.An immediate start is available, making this an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional who is available at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching, batching and coding invoices
• Managing invoice approvals and resolving any discrepancies
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items
• Handling supplier and stakeholder queries in a timely manner
• Preparing and supporting regular payment runs
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and account information
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting requirements
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls and company procedures
• Working closely with the wider finance team to support business objectives

Candidate Requirements

• Proven Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger experience
• Previous experience within a high-volume processing environment
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
• Available to commence work immediately or at short notice
