Area Supervisor - Hygiene Services
Location: Carlisle, CA1 5TG

We're looking for an experienced Area Supervisor to lead our hygiene team and help deliver safe, compliant and high-standard cleaning services at [ You'll play a key role in keeping our operation audit-ready, our teams motivated, and our client happy - every day.

Pay & Shift Information:

  • Vacancy 1: Thursday to Sunday (2x 8 hours & 2x 12 hours)
  • Vacancy 2: Friday to Monday (2x 8 hours & 2x 12 hours)
  • Must be able to work at the weekend
  • Full Time
  • £15.44 per hour / weekly pay

What you'll be doing

  • Supervising hygiene operatives day-to-day, allocating labour, briefing the team and monitoring standards throughout each shift
  • Supporting and training new starters and agency workers, coaching the team on best practice and safe working methods
  • Acting as the main point of contact between the hygiene team, production, engineering, QA and the client
  • Completing and checking hygiene paperwork, sign-off sheets and audit records for accuracy
  • Ensuring all cleaning activities meet food safety standards (including BRCGS) and site procedures, including pre-operational checks and hygiene verification
  • Championing a strong safety culture - enforcing PPE use, safe systems of work and site H&S rules
  • Managing equipment, chemicals and materials correctly and safely, including COSHH compliance
  • Supporting continuous improvement, training and competency development across the team

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in hygiene, cleaning, manufacturing, food production or a similar operational environment
  • Proven ability to supervise, motivate and support a team
  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and health & safety requirements
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with team members, managers and client contacts
  • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise during busy periods
  • Strong attention to detail when checking standards and completing records
  • Confidence to challenge poor standards or unsafe behaviour professionally
  • A calm, practical approach to problem-solving
  • Basic IT/admin skills for records and reporting
  • A positive, professional and approachable attitude
