Assistant Manager

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help run a busy, well-loved pub in St Helens. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on keeping a pub running smoothly while bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub
• Building and managing staff rotas, making sure shifts are covered and the team is set up to succeed
• Leading, training and motivating the front-of-house and bar team
• Planning and organising events and fun days to bring in new customers and keep regulars coming back
• Creating and running marketing for pub offers, promotions and events — social media, in-pub signage, local advertising
• Maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness and compliance (licensing, health & safety, etc.)
• Handling stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
• Stepping up to manage the pub in the GM's absence

What we're looking for:

• Proven hospitality experience, ideally within a pub or bar environment
• Experience managing staff rotas and leading a team
• A creative eye for marketing and promoting offers/events
• Strong organisational skills — able to juggle several things at once
• A people person with great customer service instincts
• Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays — this is essential for the role
