ASSISTANT SITE ENGINEER – INDUSTRIAL / NEW BUILD

An established and growing main contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The business specialises in the delivery of new-build industrial and logistics developments, with project values ranging from £5M to £30M across Essex and Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Engineer with 2–3 years' construction experience who is looking to develop their technical and site management skills within an established main contracting environment.

The Role:

As Assistant Site Engineer, you will work closely with the Site Manager, Senior Site Management and wider project team, supporting the technical delivery of new-build industrial projects from groundworks through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the setting out and technical delivery of construction works

• Carrying out site surveys, levels and measurements

• Checking drawings, specifications and technical information

• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications

• Supporting the Site Manager and Site Engineer with day-to-day technical requirements

• Monitoring subcontractor works and ensuring correct standards are maintained

• Assisting with quality control and inspections

• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

• Identifying and reporting technical issues on site

• Working closely with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team

• Assisting with site progress and coordination

• Supporting the successful delivery and handover of projects

About You:

My client is keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

- 2–3 years' experience within construction

- Previous experience as a Site Engineer / Assistant Site Engineer

- Experience within industrial construction or main contracting

- Experience working on new-build projects would be advantageous

- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and setting out

- Strong technical and problem-solving skills

- Good communication and organisational skills

- Ability to work effectively alongside Site Management and subcontractors

- Relevant Civil Engineering / Construction qualification would be advantageous

- CSCS

- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Essex & Kent
