Audit Assistant Manager

An established accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Audit Assistant Manager to join its growing Newbury team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior who is ready to step into Assistant Manager level, or an existing Assistant Manager looking for a role offering a clear route to Audit Manager.

The successful candidate will join an established audit team and play an important role in supporting the management team, overseeing audit assignments and helping develop more junior members of staff.

The Role:

• Planning and managing audit assignments from planning through to completion 
• Leading audits across a varied portfolio of clients 
• Reviewing audit work and ensuring high-quality files 
• Supervising and supporting Audit Seniors and trainees 
• Working closely with Managers and Partners 
• Reviewing financial statements and identifying technical issues 
• Building strong relationships with clients 
• Assisting with the development and training of junior team members 
• Taking responsibility for budgets, deadlines and workflow 
• Supporting the wider audit team with technical and client matters 

About You:

• ACA or ACCA qualified 
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice 
• Strong audit background 
• Currently operating at Assistant Manager level, or an experienced Senior ready for progression 
• Confident managing audit assignments and supervising junior staff 
• Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge 
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills 
• Organised and able to manage multiple assignments effectively 
• Ambitious and keen to progress towards Audit Manager
