Building Surveyor in Coalville, Leicestershire

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Building Surveyor to join Northwest Leicestershire Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• To act as senior professional and technical advisor within the Responsive Repairs, Voids and Minor Works Team for all aspects of delivery of the council’s work to its domestic rented portfolio in accordance with the consumer standards.

• To lead on the delivery of a full defect diagnostic service and eradicate cases of damp and mould and other defects through accurate diagnostic, scoping and reporting within the Housing Service, seeing these through to resolution.

• Carry out measured surveys and compile information to assist with the preparation of specifications, orders and other contract documents

• Assist with the preparation of budgets and feasibility reports and provide reports to the Responsive Repairs, Voids and Minor Works Team Manager as and when requested.

• To undertake regular inspections of premises to identify areas of statutory non-compliance or unacceptable quality, areas of building fabric failure. Investigate day-to-day repair requests from reporting to completion and operational reviews.

Essential Requirements

• Experience working as a building surveyor 

• A full UK driving licence
