Business Development Executive – Charity Sector

Red 5 People

Good at sales and building relationships, but want to use those skills to make a genuine difference?

This is an opportunity to take your commercial skills and build a career within the charity and mental health sector, helping people with mental health needs get back into employment.

Multiple permanent vacancies across Greenwich, Woolwich, Bromley and Beckenham.

It’s one day working from home, with four days working across community and office settings.

A big part of the role is opening doors with local employers. You’ll proactively approach businesses, build relationships and identify employment opportunities for the people you support.

So if you’re someone who doesn’t mind making the first approach, starting conversations and building relationships from scratch, your skills could transfer brilliantly.

You’re not actually selling anything.

There are no KPIs around calls or dials, although you will be expected to have regular conversations and meetings with employers each week.

Alongside the employer-facing work, you’ll manage a caseload of around 20–25 people, coaching and supporting them with their job search, applications, interviews and confidence.

You’ll also work closely with Community Mental Health Teams and healthcare professionals, supporting people both into work and once they start employment.

There are targets around employment outcomes, as well as compliance and administration, so you’ll need to be comfortable working towards results.

We’d be particularly interested in people from B2B sales, business development, recruitment or fundraising, but we’re also open to strong retail sales backgrounds where you can demonstrate confidence approaching people, building relationships and working towards targets.

If you’re good with people, commercially minded and want your next role to have more social purpose, this could be a great career move.
