We are recruiting for an experienced CMM Inspector to join a well-established and expanding precision engineering business in the St Helens area.

The Role

As CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all products meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Programming, setting and operating CMM equipment
• Producing and updating CMM inspection programmes
• Completing first-off, in-process and final inspections
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
• Inspecting precision-machined components using a range of measuring equipment
• Recording inspection results and producing quality documentation
• Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
• Supporting investigations into quality issues
• Working closely with production and engineering teams
• Contributing to continuous improvement across the quality department

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a CMM Inspector or CMM Programmer
• Experience using PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS or similar CMM software
• A background within precision engineering, machining or manufacturing
• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills
• Experience using manual inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and height gauges
• A good understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality standards
• Strong attention to detail
