We are recruiting for an experienced CMM Inspector to join a well-established and expanding precision engineering business in the St Helens area.
The company manufactures high-precision components, tooling and engineering solutions for demanding industries including aerospace, automotive and medical. The Role
As CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring all products meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Programming, setting and operating CMM equipment
- Producing and updating CMM inspection programmes
- Completing first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Inspecting precision-machined components using a range of measuring equipment
- Recording inspection results and producing quality documentation
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
- Supporting investigations into quality issues
- Working closely with production and engineering teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement across the quality department
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a CMM Inspector or CMM Programmer
- Experience using PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS or similar CMM software
- A background within precision engineering, machining or manufacturing
- Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills
- Experience using manual inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and height gauges
- A good understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality standards
- Strong attention to detail
