CNC Miller – Setter / Operator

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Salary: £16.00 per hour + Overtime | Negotiable DOE
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm | Friday 8:00am–3:30pm

Actio Engineering Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / Setter Operator to join an established precision engineering business based in Sevenoaks.

Our client designs, manufactures and assembles high-performance driveline products in-house for customers across the motorsport and automotive industries worldwide.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller looking for an interesting and varied role, with the opportunity to develop your skills across different areas of precision engineering.

The Role

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Programming and editing at the machine
• Working with Fanuc or similar G-code controls
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Producing precision components to tight tolerances
• Supporting less experienced setters and operators
• Making tool and offset adjustments
• Assisting with troubleshooting and improving machining processes
• Working on a variety of interesting components for the motorsport and automotive sectors

The Candidate

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller / Setter Operator
• Strong CNC milling experience
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas or similar controls
• Good understanding of G-code programming
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets and machining parameters
• A good understanding of precision engineering
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Training & Development

The company is keen to develop the right person and there is the opportunity to learn additional processes, including 5-axis milling, gear cutting and grinding.

The business designs and assembles its products in-house, meaning you will gain valuable exposure to the wider manufacturing process rather than being restricted to one area of machining.

There is also scope for progression in both skills and pay as your abilities are demonstrated.

Salary & Hours

• Starting rate around £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Rate is negotiable for the right candidate
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Overtime currently available due to a busy order book
• Potential earnings of around £41,000 per year including overtime
• Further earning potential as your skills develop
• Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am–3:30pm
