The Role
You'll be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC turning machinery while also carrying out manual turning and milling work. Working from engineering drawings, you'll manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, program and operate CNC turning machines.
- Carry out manual turning and milling operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
- Perform in-process inspection and quality checks.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance.
- Work safely and in line with quality and manufacturing standards.
- Support the team in achieving production and delivery targets.
- 2+ years' experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment.
- Experience with manual turning and milling.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Fanuc programming experience is highly desirable.
- Experience of online programming would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 or similar quality standards is beneficial.
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing principles.
