We are looking for a Commercial Accountant with strong management accounting / FP&A experience who can provide meaningful commercial insight, support decision-making and contribute to the continued development of the finance function.
This is a commercially focused position with a strong FP&A and analytical bias, working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director to provide accurate analysis, forecasting and insight.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining robust rolling financial models to support strategic planning, forecasting and investment decisions.
- Conducting monthly analysis of sales and gross margin variances, providing clear commentary and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
- Managing customer price lists, commission programmes and warranty reporting.
- Preparing and analysing weekly cashflow forecasts, providing visibility of future cash requirements.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with the preparation and submission of monthly reporting packs, working to strict Group deadlines.
- Supervising the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams, providing day-to-day support and guidance.
- Providing cover and support to the Financial Controller when required, helping to ensure the smooth running of the wider finance function.
- Working collaboratively with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls as the business continues to grow.
- Supporting the finance team through future business acquisitions and integration activity.
They are looking for a commercially-minded finance professional who enjoys working with numbers but importantly can turn financial information into meaningful business insight.
You will ideally have:
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong experience within a Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or FP&A role, ideally gained within a larger corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent management reporting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
- Experience analysing sales, margins and commercial performance.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of your responsibilities.
- Experience working within a fast-paced finance team and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office / Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience of SAP and/or Tagetik would be advantageous but is not essential.
Benefits: -
- Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience.
- 5% Company Bonus (Dependent on company performance)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
- 5% employer pension contribution / 4% employee contribution.
- 4 x salary Death in Service.
- Hours: Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm and Friday 9am–4pm.(There is some flexibility around working hours)
