Commercial Officer
A leading defence engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Commercial Officer to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience in contract review, risk management and stakeholder engagement who enjoys supporting complex engineering programmes within a highly regulated environment.
What's on Offer:
- Up to £45,000 per annum DOE
- Permanent position
- Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- 33 days holiday, including bank holidays
- Flexi-time - accrue up to an additional 12 days annual leave per year

The Role:
Working within the Commercial Team, you'll support the management of customer contracts throughout their lifecycle, helping to ensure commercial risks are identified, contractual obligations are met, and the organisation's commercial position is protected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing contracts, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and commercial documentation
- Identifying contractual risks, liabilities and opportunities
- Supporting contract negotiations, amendments and change management activities
- Working closely with Project Managers to ensure contractual compliance throughout programme delivery
- Assessing the commercial impact of programme changes, including cost, schedule and scope implications
- Maintaining contract records, correspondence and governance documentation
- Supporting stakeholder engagement while protecting the company's commercial interests
What You'll Need:
- Previous experience in a Commercial Officer, Contracts Officer or similar commercial role
- Experience reviewing and interpreting customer contracts and terms & conditions
- Strong understanding of contractual risk, liabilities and commercial governance
- Experience managing contract changes, variations and amendments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess commercial implications and provide practical advice
Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Engineering, Manufacturing, Infrastructure or other highly regulated sectors would be highly advantageous.
