The Role
As a Customer Account Manager, you'll become the trusted point of contact for a portfolio of customers, ensuring they receive a seamless, professional service from start to finish. Working alongside commercial, logistics and operational teams, you'll help deliver an exceptional customer experience while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and improve service.
This is a varied role that combines relationship management, customer support, reporting and account administration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and developing relationships with an existing portfolio of customers.
- Acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries and account support.
- Conducting regular account reviews to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to enhance service.
- Resolving customer queries and issues quickly and professionally, working with internal teams to find effective solutions.
- Monitoring customer performance, service levels and account activity.
- Producing reports and analysing customer data to support retention and account growth.
- Maintaining accurate customer information within CRM systems.
- Supporting continuous improvements to processes and customer experience.
- Building strong working relationships across commercial, operations and logistics teams.
What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with customers and takes pride in delivering a first-class service. You'll be organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with people at all levels.
You'll also have:
- Previous experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Customer Success or Client Relationship Management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
- The ability to investigate problems and deliver effective solutions.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Confidence analysing data and producing customer reports.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- Experience within metal recycling, waste management, manufacturing, logistics or another industrial environment.
- Knowledge of customer performance reporting and service KPIs.
- Experience managing multiple customer accounts.
