Are you an experienced leader in children’s services, dedicated to making a positive impact in residential care? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager in supported accommodation in Newport. This role involves managing a dedicated team, ensuring high standards of care, and supporting young people to achieve independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Location: Newport
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm
Travel: 0.55p per mile when using own car

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of support staff to deliver high-quality care in line with Ofsted and CIW regulations.
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager in managing daily service operations, ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, local authorities, and safeguarding teams to promote positive outcomes for young people.
- Coordinate and chair staff meetings, care planning, and multi-agency meetings.
- Ensure safeguarding remains a central focus, and activities are engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate.
- Support staff supervision, training, and recruitment processes, maintaining mandatory training and development standards.
- Contribute to quality assurance, record-keeping, and compliance monitoring.
- Assist with service tenders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience within children’s residential care, ideally for at least two years.
- Experience working to Ofsted or CIW standards in supported living or residential care settings.
- Possession of a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) is essential; working towards Level 5 within two years is expected.
- Full driving licence is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and legislation relevant to children’s services.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with external agencies, young people, and staff.
