We’re recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join one of Europe’s leading data centre contractors on a major mission-critical project based in Blyth, England.
This is a key support role on a fast-paced construction project, responsible for managing, controlling, and distributing all project documentation to ensure accurate information flow across site teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
As Document Controller, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining document control systems, ensuring compliance with company standards and project procedures, and supporting the wider project team with accurate, up-to-date information throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all project documentation in line with company standards and IMS procedures.
• Control distribution of drawings, RFIs, schedules, specifications, and reports.
• Maintain document registers, RFIs, action logs, and tracking systems.
• Ensure correct version control and document accuracy across all platforms.
• Track overdue actions and produce regular progress/status reports.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure document compliance.
• Support QA/QC and HSE teams with audits and compliance documentation.
• Ensure efficient storage, filing, and retrieval of all project records.
• Assist project teams with document-related queries and reporting needs.
• Maintain high levels of organisation in a busy site environment.
Requirements
• 2+ years’ experience in a Document Controller role within construction.
• Previous experience on large-scale projects (Data Centre / Industrial / Infrastructure preferred).
• Strong understanding of document control systems and processes.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with Aconex / Viewpoint / Procore or similar systems desirable.
