We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of electrical works on a major data centre project in Camberley.

The successful candidate will manage the electrical package from installation through to testing, commissioning and handover, ensuring the works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of electrical construction works across the project.
  • Lead and coordinate electrical subcontractors, supervisors, engineers and site teams.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate electrical activities with CSA, mechanical, BMS, controls, design and commissioning teams.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, technical submissions, RAMS, ITPs and construction programmes.
  • Manage permits, labour, materials, plant, access, logistics and site resources.
  • Monitor progress, productivity, labour levels and subcontractor performance.
  • Produce progress reports, short-term programmes, look-ahead schedules and recovery plans where required.
  • Attend client, design, coordination, construction and progress meetings.
  • Carry out site inspections, quality checks and installation reviews.
  • Manage quality documentation, inspection records, snagging, defects and close-out.
  • Identify and resolve design, installation, safety, quality and programme issues.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, energisation, integrated systems testing and final handover.
  • Support procurement, material tracking, delivery schedules and equipment installation planning.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to progress, variations, delays, instructions and construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and project standards.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager on data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure projects.
  • A minimum of 5–7 years’ electrical site management or construction management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complete electrical packages from pre-construction and installation through to testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Strong knowledge of LV and HV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, busbar, power distribution and critical power systems.
  • Experience overseeing containment, cabling, earthing, bonding, lighting, small power, fire alarms, fibre, ICT, BMS and controls infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, energisation, cause-and-effect testing and integrated systems testing.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, labour, productivity, permits, logistics, materials and programme delivery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, specifications and construction programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of RAMS, ITPs, inspections, quality assurance, snagging and handover documentation.
  • Good commercial awareness, including variations, change control, progress measurement and subcontractor performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Certifications

SMSTS is essential. Candidates should also hold an appropriate ECS or CSCS management card, First Aid at Work and a recognised electrical trade or electrical engineering qualification.

An HNC, HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, IOSH or NEBOSH, Temporary Works awareness, HV Authorised Person status and CIOB, PMP or equivalent professional membership would be advantageous.
