Overview
The Flavour Network is partnering with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit two Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join an established engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Working closely with Production and Engineering teams, you'll be responsible for planned preventive maintenance, reactive breakdown support, and engineering improvements to ensure maximum equipment reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Support mechanical maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Complete planned maintenance, repairs, installations, upgrades and modifications to plant equipment.
- Assist with machinery improvements to increase reliability and performance.
- Record maintenance activities accurately using the site's CMMS.
- Carry out statutory inspections and engineering checks as required.
- Update electrical drawings where necessary.
- Work safely in accordance with Permit to Work, Isolation, and Lock Out procedures.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with Health & Safety legislation, GMP and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with Production to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Essential:
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, ONC or recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and engineering best practice.
- Experience using CMMS maintenance systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.
- PLC fault-finding experience.
- Continuous Improvement experience.
