Duration: 2 to 4 months initially, with potential for extension or permanent employment

The Opportunity
Our client, a large education organisation supporting approximately 4,000 students, is seeking an experienced Facilities & Estates Coordinator to join their Estates and Facilities team on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, diagnosing building-related faults, supporting contractors, overseeing maintenance operations, and helping ensure a safe and efficient environment across a busy campus estate.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, responding to building issues, and working across a wide variety of systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support planned and reactive maintenance activities across the estate.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of building-related faults.
- Attend site to investigate and resolve maintenance issues where required.
- Manage and support maintenance staff, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor service quality and contractor performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update works through the organisation's helpdesk system.
- Produce reports and update maintenance databases.
- Support project work, small works programmes, and building surveys.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Monitor statutory maintenance requirements and ensure records remain up to date.
- Respond to building management system alerts and coordinate remedial actions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience within facilities maintenance, estates, or building services environments.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across a variety of building systems.
- Experience working within large, complex buildings or multi-site environments.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using maintenance management systems.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to facilities management.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within facilities operations.
Desirable
- Experience using Building Management Systems (BMS), particularly Trend IQ.
- Facilities Management, Construction, or Building Services background.
- Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
- IWFM membership or facilities-related qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
