Financial Controller
Sagoss Group has a hands-on, commercially focused finance role available for a qualified finance professional (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) who wants to take ownership of finance operations, improve cash visibility, support pricing decisions and help build scalable processes across a growing group.

JOB OVERVIEW
This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller who enjoys both detailed finance ownership and wider commercial influence.
As the Financial Controller, you will manage the complete finance function across three growing businesses, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, timely invoicing, effective credit control and clear cash-flow visibility.
The Financial Controller will also work closely with sales, bids, operations and senior leaders, supporting quotations, pricing, renewals, cost-saving initiatives, process improvement and Xero-led automation.

Healthium Clinics is a private, CQC-registered medical and aesthetic clinic in Henley-on-Thames, offering private healthcare, wellness, skin and non-surgical services in a discreet, patient-focused setting.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Financial Controller include:
- Finance Operations and Controls: Own purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany entries and control accounts
- Management Reporting: Prepare accurate management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis and clear commentary
- Payroll and Compliance: Manage payroll, pensions, PAYE/NI data, VAT returns, statutory deadlines and year-end information with external advisers where required
- Invoicing and Credit Control: Ensure invoices are raised accurately and promptly, manage aged debt, resolve queries and maintain debtor records
- Cash-Flow Forecasting: Produce rolling cash-flow forecasts, highlighting risks, funding requirements, collection priorities and payment timing
- Commercial Finance Support: Work with sales and bids teams on quotations, tender pricing, margin models, upsells, renewals and annual customer price reviews
- Cost Saving and Profitability: Review supplier spend, subscriptions, payment charges, insurance, utilities and outsourced services to identify and implement savings
- Reporting and Decision Support: Deliver weekly finance packs, monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, KPIs and dashboards that support practical business decisions
- Xero Systems and Automation: Own Xero configuration, reporting, integrations, bank rules, data quality and process automation across the group
- Collaboration and Ownership: Build strong working relationships across the organisation while operating autonomously, professionally and with sound judgement
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Formally qualified with a recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Previous experience owning a broad, hands-on finance function, ideally within a growing SME, scale-up, owner-managed business or multi-company group
- Strong practical knowledge of UK accounting processes, month-end, management accounts, payroll, pensions, VAT, HMRC requirements, cash flow and year-end support
- Advanced, hands-on Xero capability, with the confidence to configure, improve and use the platform independently
- Proven success improving credit control, invoice timing, working capital and cash collection while maintaining constructive customer relationships
- Commercial finance experience supporting quotations, bids, pricing, margin analysis, upsells, renewals and customer price increases
- Experience identifying and implementing cost savings, process improvements, automation or stronger controls with measurable results
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, with confidence using data and systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a changing environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain finance information in plain English
DESIRABLE
- Experience in an IT, software, technology, parking, transport or service-led businesses
- Experience supporting more than one legal entity, business unit or sector
- Exposure to healthcare, private clinics, regulated services, medical products or market-access consulting
- Experience introducing finance-system integrations, workflow automation, dashboards or new reporting structures
