We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Team Leader to lead a team of Fire Safety Technicians and Electrical Engineers, ensuring fire safety compliance across a social housing environment.
This is a key role where you'll oversee fire risk assessments, inspections, contractors and improvement projects, while managing risk, driving performance and helping to ensure residents live in safe homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 8 fire safety professionals.
- Manage the Fire Risk Assessment programme and ensure remedial actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Oversee fire door, emergency lighting, fire alarm and other safety inspection programmes.
- Manage a fire safety budget of approximately £600k.
- Manage contractors, consultants and fire safety improvement projects.
- Develop project specifications and support procurement activities.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and produce management reports.
- Support the development of fire strategies, policies and procedures.
- Deputise for the Fire Safety Manager when required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety legislation and landlord responsibilities.
About You
You'll have:
- Experience reviewing Fire Risk Assessments and allocating remedial actions.
- Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Experience working within social housing or a similar environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- A relevant qualification such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, HNC/HND Fire Safety Engineering or Level 4 Fire Safety Risk Assessor/Auditor.
- The ability to analyse data and produce clear management reports.
