Forklift Engineer in Leicester, Leicestershire

Salary: £38,000-£40,000, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

We are looking for an experienced Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing family-run material handling business.

The company is looking for a good, reliable engineer with solid experience who wants to join a friendly team and build a long-term career within the business.

There are opportunities for Mobile Forklift Engineers across the Leicester, Nottingham and surrounding areas.

• Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Work on electric, diesel and LPG equipment.
• Carry out planned servicing and maintenance.
• Complete service reports and paperwork.
• Maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Keep tools, vehicles and equipment clean and well maintained.
• Work safely and follow company procedures.

Based at the company's North Nottinghamshire / Mansfield-area workshop.

The work is mainly planned and booked in advance, with engineers carrying out servicing, repairs and fault-finding on a range of forklift equipment.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm with a one-hour break.

Covering customers across the Leicester, Nottingham, Peterborough and wider Midlands areas.

The majority of work is planned and pre-booked, with occasional breakdowns when required.

Mobile engineers receive 30 minutes of paid travel time each day, with additional standby and overtime opportunities available.

• Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Material Handling Engineer or similar.
• Good mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience with electric, diesel and LPG equipment.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.
• Takes pride in producing good-quality work.

Engineers from heavy plant, agricultural machinery, powered access, HGV or automotive backgrounds may also be considered where they have relevant transferable experience.

• £38,000-£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
