You'll work closely with teachers and pupils, providing both academic and pastoral support while helping to create an inclusive, positive and engaging learning environment. To be successful, you will:

  • Have a degree and a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
  • Bring enthusiasm, patience and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • Have an interest in SEND and/or experience supporting individuals with autism.
  • Have experience working with children or young people through education, care, tutoring, mentoring, volunteering or similar settings.
  • Be committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
  • Be keen to develop your skills and pursue a career within education.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting students with their academic work and learning activities.
  • Providing encouragement and helping pupils build confidence and independence.
  • Supporting children both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Working alongside teachers to prepare resources and activities.
  • Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Providing additional support to pupils with SEND and autism where required.
