Grounds & Landscapes Assistant

Our client manages a 3000 acre estate on the Sussex Downs, this role is to work as part of a very busy Grounds Maintenance Team. This is not traditional landscaping, it does cover the usual commercial mowing, and landscaping duties but is more about agricultural land control. They must have someone who is a confident driver of agricultural machinery ( tractors and trailer's) but on public roads as many of the areas require access only achieved by driving on the main roads.

When the seasons change your work will include heavy labouring, digging and clearing ditches, operating specialist machinery, laying pipes and drainage alongside the safe management of the forest for habitat management and firewood and fencing. There will also be grounds and property maintenance of both domestic and agricultural buildings (not electrics etc). 

This role would suit someone who has come from a farming background, who has managed land rather than livestock and is looking for a busy role but with more traditional hours. 

Full UK driving license essential and any chainsaw/digger/dumper certificates very desirable
