H&S Advisor |M&E Contractor | Slough in Berkshire

About the Role

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major data centre project in Slough.

This is a site-based position working closely with the project and site management teams to ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the project.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site teams, monitoring compliance, carrying out inspections and promoting a strong positive safety culture across the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the data centre project.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Monitor compliance with RAMS and company H&S procedures.
• Assist with the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Identify hazards and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with site H&S requirements.
• Maintain accurate H&S documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK Health & Safety legislation and client requirements.
• Support the project team in maintaining and improving H&S standards.

Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Previous experience within a construction environment.
• Experience working on data centre, M&E, mechanical or building services projects would be highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and investigations.
• Strong understanding of RAMS and construction safety procedures.
• Confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and senior management.
• CSCS/appropriate H&S qualification or card.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence advantageous.
