Head of Facilities — 10 Month Fixed Term Contract — Chelsea, London — £49,340 per annum

Our client, based in Chelsea, is seeking an experienced Head of Facilities to join them on a 10 month fixed term contract, starting as soon as possible.

This is a facilities management role focused on estate management and contractor oversight rather than hands-on technical work. The successful candidate will need sound working knowledge of building management systems in order to identify and diagnose issues accurately, and to direct subcontractors with confidence and authority. You will be supported by a small, established team and will report directly to a director.

Key responsibilities

- Ownership of the planned preventative maintenance programme and statutory compliance across a complex, occupied site
- Management of subcontractors covering cleaning, maintenance and engineering services
- Use of building management systems to diagnose issues and brief contractors effectively
- Budget and supplier management
- Occasional Saturday duty management (approximately three to four occasions across the contract) and infrequent evening event cover, with reasonable notice provided in each case
- Fully expensed travel to a second site approximately once a fortnight, accessible by train

Candidate requirements

- Significant, demonstrable experience in facilities or estates management within a complex building environment
- A relevant qualification in facilities, estates, engineering or building services, or equivalent substantial professional experience
- Working knowledge of building management systems and fault diagnosis
- NEBOSH, IOSH or an equivalent health and safety qualification is preferred
- A basic DBS check and two references will be required

Given the length of the contract, candidates should be able to operate independently and add value from an early stage.
