Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting an exciting, growing organisation based in Stockton-on-Tees.
You will be providing strategic and operational financial leadership, balancing day to day management of the finance function with forward financial planning, business partnering and continuous improvement.
As the ideal candidate, you will also provide trusted financial advice to the CEO, SLT and Trustees.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, regular forecasting and maintain a rolling three-year financial forecast, ensuring plans align with organisational priorities and robust assumptions.
- Lead timely monthly management accounts and performance reporting, providing clear analysis of trends, variances, risks and opportunities.
- Building strong relationships with budget holders managers and SLT, acting as a proactive and approachable finance business partner.
- Providing constructive financial challenge and advice, ensuring finance is involved early enough to influence decisions.
- Strengthen financial awareness and accountability, helping managers understand their budgets and use financial information effectively.
- Oversee the effective day to day operation of the finance function, ensuring core transactional processes are accurate, timely and well controlled.
- Maintain oversight of the purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking cash receipts and payments, reconciliations, expenses, credit cards, payroll journals and other core finance processes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant charity accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements including charity SORP, UK accounting standards and VAT requirements.
As the ideal candidate you will be/have:
- Significant senior finance experience - ideally within a complex, multi-site or growing organisation.
- Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, financial analysis and financial planning.
- Experienced in business partnering with senior leaders and non-finance managers.
- Experienced in leading, managing and developing a finance team.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, risk & compliance, including VAT.
- Experience of leading managing and developing a finance team.
