Are you a Health & Safety professional with a background in manufacturing, looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a standalone role and genuinely influence how a business operates?

We're working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business that is investing in its people, processes and operational standards. As part of this journey, they are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to help drive best practice, strengthen compliance and support positive cultural change across the site.

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has solid Health & Safety experience and is ready to take the next step in their career within a busy production environment.

The Role

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of Health & Safety across manufacturing, warehouse and operational areas whilst supporting managers to improve consistency, accountability and compliance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing Health & Safety policies, procedures and systems
  • Conducting site audits, inspections and risk assessments
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Supporting managers and supervisors with Health & Safety responsibilities and best practice
  • Delivering training, toolbox talks and employee inductions
  • Monitoring compliance and ensuring legal obligations are met
  • Managing contractor activities and safe systems of work
  • Producing reports, analysing trends and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across the business
  • Supporting operational improvement and change initiatives

About You

To be successful, you'll need to be confident working within a manufacturing or production environment and comfortable building relationships with people at all levels of the business.

You'll ideally have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing or production, ideally within FMCG
  • Experience working around machinery, equipment and operational risk
  • A practical understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence and challenge where required
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
  • Experience supporting process improvements, behavioural change or operational improvement initiatives would be highly advantageous

What's on Offer?

  • Genuine autonomy and ownership of the Health & Safety function
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership
  • Opportunity to influence positive change across the business
  • Stable and growing organisation with long-term opportunities
  • Competitive salary package and benefits

If you're looking for a role where you can make a visible impact, develop your career and help shape the future direction of Health & Safety within a manufacturing business, we'd love to hear from you.
