We are representing a reputable company seeking a skilled HGV Fleet Technician to join their team in Littlehampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a well-equipped workshop environment, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, including DAF and Volvo models.

Duties:
  • Plan and organise workload and maintenance schedules efficiently
  • Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out necessary repairs
  • Maintain detailed service and repair records
  • Support urgent repairs and minimise vehicle downtime
  • Carry out inspections and rectify major defects in line with safety regulations
  • Support out-of-hours call outs, including fault diagnosis and repairs
  • Assist with planned maintenance and breakdowns for fleet vehicles including road marking units and trucks between 28 and 44 tonnes
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic with 5-6 years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of DAF and Volvo commercial vehicles preferred but not essential
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
  • Experience preparing vehicles for MOT is advantageous
  • Organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively
  • Responsible, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driving licence; an HGV licence is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including out-of-hours call outs
