Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor currently looking for a new challenge?
 
An opportunity has arisen for a Highways QS to join a client in Bedfordshire.
 
This is a full-time contract offered on an on-going basis, initially for 3 months. This role will offer hybrid working, and a rate of £425 - £500 per day, inside IR35.
 
 
Key Accountabilities:
·Reporting to the Managing QS in delivery of all commercial aspects relating to highway maintenance works
·Cost capture for supply chain & self-delivered works
·Working with the Managing Quantity Surveyor to prepare clear and accurate forecasts
·Preparing early warning notices and CE quotations
·Submitting of Claims and applications to the client and ensuring payment is received
·Agreement of final accounts within 3 months of work completion
·Risk & opportunity management
·Monthly cost and value reconciliation & management
·Assisting in management of supply chain
·Carrying out site visits as and when required
·Ensuring compliance with standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities
·Ad hoc commercial duties as job requires

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
·HNC/D ,Degree  or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject
·Preferably qualified or working to an CICES or RICS accreditation
·Relevant CSCS Card
·Demonstrable highway maintenance and civil engineering experience preferably with a contracting organisation
·Good knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
