Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Supply Desk are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Southampton, who are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or an aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, lead lessons across the primary age range when required and provide targeted support to pupils to help them reach their full potential.

Overview

Supply Desk are currently seeking a HLTA to join a supportive Primary School in the Southampton area on a long-term contract from September, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The role will involve delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, supporting small group interventions and working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure every child receives the highest standard of education.

We are currently looking for HLTAs who:
  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have equivalent experience.
  • Have recent experience working within a Primary School.
  • Are confident leading whole-class lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 when required.
  • Can effectively support pupils with a range of learning abilities and additional needs.
  • Have excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Are enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to raising pupil attainment.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
