Paying up to £40k + Excellent Benefits - Our client, a well-established and highly respected health and social care organisation, is seeking an experienced HR Advisor – Employee Relations to join their People Team based in Oldham.

This is a newly created role, introduced as a result of the organisation's continued growth and expansion. Supporting a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring managers receive expert HR guidance and employee relations support across a diverse range of services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional with a strong background in employee relations, workplace investigations and employment law who is looking to make a genuine impact within a regulated care environment.

Working within a Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated environment, you will help ensure people management practices support safe, effective, and high-quality care by providing expert advice on complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, safeguarding responsibilities, and regulatory compliance.

THE ROLE

Reporting into the HR Manager, you will take ownership of a varied and interesting employee relations caseload, providing practical advice and guidance to managers supporting approximately 1,000 employees across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining the employee investigations database, ensuring accurate records and effective case tracking
  • Coaching and supporting operational managers throughout employee relations processes
  • Scheduling, supporting, and attending fact-finding meetings
  • Preparing investigation reports where required, presenting clear findings and recommendations
  • Reviewing completed investigations to ensure legal compliance and preparing risk assessments to support senior management decision-making
  • Delivering training and coaching to managers on employee relations processes and best practice
  • Monitoring investigation timescales to ensure cases are progressed and concluded promptly
  • Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and other employee relations matters
  • Supporting the ongoing development of HR policies, procedures, and best practice

THE PERSON

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Significant HR experience within the health and social care sector, ideally within a Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated organisation
  • A sound understanding of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Fundamental Standards, safeguarding legislation, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the legislative framework governing regulated care services
  • An understanding of how effective employee relations, robust investigations and sound HR practices contribute to regulatory compliance, safe services, and positive inspection outcomes
  • A driving licence is essential as you will travel to other sites in the Northwest
  • A sound understanding of Safeguarding legislation, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the legislative framework governing regulated care services
  • Extensive experience managing complex employee relations cases and workplace investigations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence managers at all levels
  • Excellent report writing, analytical and organisational skills
  • The ability to identify organisational risk and provide balanced, commercially sound recommendations
  • A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience). CIPD Level 7 would be advantageous
