Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher with the ability to inspire students across both academic and vocational subjects?

GSL Education London are seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher to deliver a combination of Health & Social Care and History in a school in Greenwich from September 2026.

The successful Humanities Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across both subject areas, supporting students according to the curriculum and syllabus. This role requires a teacher who can bring both historical context and real-world health and social care concepts to life, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated throughout their learning journey.

Main Responsibilities of a Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Health & Social Care and History across relevant key stages.
  • Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus for both subject areas.
  • Develop students’ understanding of historical events, social issues, and health-related topics.
  • Prepare students for assessments, coursework, and examinations.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing regular feedback.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff to support student success.

Requirements of a Humanities Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in History, Humanities, Health & Social Care, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching History and Health & Social Care within schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge across both disciplines.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
