Income Management Officer - Temporary - 6 weeks - £19-£24 per hour
Yolk Recruitment Public Sector and Not-for-Profit are working with a Housing Association to appoint an Income Management Office to cover for a 6 week role. In order to be considered you need to have an enhanced DBS and you would be expected in the office 4 days a week.
About the role
The remit of the role is to build a thorough understanding of each residents' financial circumstances and coach residents to have clear rent accounts or have payment plans in place that prevent the need for further action and to recover resident debt in line with current processes and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Have an up to date picture of each residents rent account
- Build or maintain great relationships with external agencies such as DWP, Housing Benefit, advice services, tenancy support services, debt advice services.
- Refer on to specialist services such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, welfare benefits advice, The Food bank and other relevant agencies where required.
- Where all efforts to contact former residents and recover the debt have been exhausted without success, the matter will be escalated to our partner debt collection agency for further enquiries, in line with internal procedures.
- To be aware of your role and responsibilities to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and make referrals to social services or the police when necessary.
About you
In order to be considered for this role you need:
- An enhanced DBS
- Experience in a social housing background
- You would need to be familar with Notices Before Claim process in the event of long term rent arrears
What you would get in return:
- £19-£24 per hour
- 34.5 hours a week
- 4 days a week in the office.
- Monday to Friday, no weekends or evenings.
